Overview
Central Sector Scheme for students to arrest drop-out rates at Class 8 and encourage them to continue study at secondary stage.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students must be studying in Class 9 at Government, Government-aided, or Local Body schools.
- Scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 8 examination (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
- Parental income not exceeding ₹3.5 Lakhs per annum.
- Must pass the selection test (MAT & SAT) with at least 40% in each paper (35% for SC/ST).
- Ineligible: Students of NVS, KVS, Sainik schools, and Private schools.
Detailed Benefits
Selected students receive ₹12,000 per annum (₹1,000 per month) for four years, covering Class IX to XII.
